The inimitable Jasmine Banks frequently asks people to share their Intentions For The Week on Facebook, and then on Friday she follows up with a “How’d You Do?” I very rarely (if ever) join in the conversation — because of fear of failure and all that — but I always enjoy reading other people’s goals and successes. I don’t know if I’ll join in on Jasmine’s thing this week, but I thought I’d jot a few Intentions down here just to see if it encourages me to go forth and accomplish.
Intentions, Best-Laid Plans and So Forth
- Monday: BLAs and french fries
- Bacon and avocado make everything better.
- Tuesday: Chicken tenders
- Cracker Barrel style!
- Wednesday: Fried chicken
- Pete has been asking if we could go to our local fried-chicken emporium for about a month now. He’ll be happy Wednesday night.
- Thursday: Chicken tacos
- All hail the slow cooker. Especially on the weeks when we have soccer carpool duty.
- Friday: Pizza
- Since we’re eating out on Wednesday, it’ll be homemade.
Right now I intend to eat a banana whilst trying not to imagine it’s chock-full of baby spiders. (As if I didn’t already loathe bananas enough.)

It’s really, really simple. Chicken breasts & salsa. And a little taco seasoning, if you’re feeling wild. 🙂 A friend of mine shared it with me about a decade ago! I’m going to mix it up this time and use a green salsa and maybe some extra chiles.
Your post had engendered a response from me. (Damn – I hope I used that word correctly). While I cannot comment on homeschooling, I can speak to both flossing and bananas.
Gum Floss sticks have changed my life. Seriously – since using them I no longer get chided by the hygienist which says a lot about my previously poor flossing abilities.
Secondly, somewhere in the past 10 years bananas started to creep me out, I can only eat them during a certain 3-day period where they are no longer hard and green nor are they soft and filled with brown spots, and even then its under duress. I like them smashed and hidden in banana bread or pancakes, but that’s it. Now that you have introduced the idea of spiders AND bananas together, I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to even pick one up in the store. Way to go Nichole, way to go.
I just love avocado. I made a an omelet this morning, served it with a few slices of avocado. Just delicious.
