Rockford, trying to get Poppy to pull it together after a particularly disobedient spell: I need you to be the very best Poppy you can be.
Poppy, crestfallen: But sometimes my heart just falls apart.
Rockford, having entirely melted: Well, we have to find a way to put your heart back together.
Poppy: The only thing that puts me back together is Petey’s laughing.

Mommy’s little entrepreneur
Poppy: Mommy, I’m sorry your computer can’t compute as fast as your old computer.
Me: Thanks honey.
P: Maybe we can make it go faster!
Me: Yeah? How would we do that.
P: My store — where someone lives, called The Panic — has faster cartridges. We will use a faster cartridge from my store.
I would be worried about someone named The Panic living in my daughter’s store, but I happen to know that The Panic is the name of the store. I’m not sure who lives there, but I know they used to sell jewelry. I asked her why they were selling “fast computer cartridges” now, and she said, “They’re all out of jewelry.”
A sort of fairytale
Once upon a time, there was a little boy who was trapped in his crib. It was day, and he wanted to get out of the crib and play. So he swung his wee leg up and over the crib’s railing!
And his mommy walked in just before he launched himself to the floor, and he gave her a very funny and mischievous little smile.
The End.
(Except it isn’t really the end, because now we need to get a big-boy bed for the li’l fella.)
