It’s a theme week at Works for Me Wednesday! Shannon wants to know what toys you’ve found that are worth buying. Here are a few of our favorites:
Books. Poppy loves to read, and Pete has recently started picking up his board books and babbling his way through them. We’ve found a great used-books shop that has a well-stocked childrens section.
Leapfrog Tag. This one fits right in with Poppy’s love of reading.
Blocks. We have a set of wooden blocks that belonged to Rockford’s dad when he was a little guy. The kids love playing with them, and I love that they aren’t plastic.
Cookware. Poppy loves to help me in the kitchen. If we had room for it, I’d love to have a little kitchen set for the kids to “practice” their culinary skills in. As it is, though, she and Pete have plenty of fun playing with the pots and pans they pull out of the cupboard.

I picked up a couple books for Adyson. Books are usually my favorite gift for kids.

Your blog is so fun and cute! Precious, precious children. I agree on the cookware, it’s the best!

Do you like the LeapFrog Tag? Abby also loves books and loves to read, and I was thinking about this for her b-day or Christmas, but was wondering if it’s just another toy that won’t get played with……
I do like the Tag. Piper isn’t quite as enthusiastic about it as she was when she first got it, but I think that’s because she only has two books to go with it. I think that as a special-occasions toy — say, held aside for long car trips or waiting rooms — it’s a great thing.
