Trying to get my menu-planning act together

I feel like I’ve been feeding my family nothing but sandwiches lately. That’s not exactly accurate, but I’m trying to be more purposeful with our menu plans. For this week, anyway. Here’s what we’ll be having.

Monday: Tacos

I found some deeply discounted Frontera taco seasoning, and it was delicious.

Tuesday: Chicken marsala
I haven’t been cooking much lately, because our schedules have been all over the place. I’ll actually be home long enough to make a whole meal tomorrow, though. I’m pretty excited.

Wednesday: Sandwiches / potluck
We’re having a potluck at the last meeting of my writing class. The rest of the fam is having sandwiches.

Thursday: Chicken curry
This’ll be in the Crockpot, which barely feels like cooking at all.

Friday: Spaghetti and meatballs
I gave my brother a bag of frozen meatballs, and my nephews really liked them. So I’m going to make a bunch of extra meatballs for my guys.

I’m a loser, baby

Well, I have lost NaBloPoMo.

I’m not sure what happened yesterday. I fell asleep under a cat Friday night and slept in the living room until 2am. Yesterday I went to the grocery store and played Monopoly with the fam and went to see a play starring one friend with some other friends and watched Saturday Night Live, and a thing I did not do was write a blog post.

Oh well.

Another day in the life

#OneDayHH is happening over on Instagram all day today, and I’m going to try to update this post with my photos throughout the day. This is my sixth year participating. It’s the first year that won’t feature any homeschooling, unless I run into some homeschoolers in the wild and creepily photograph them. Which I will not do.

I wanted to give you a better picture than this — maybe a cheerful buddy selfie or some quirky product at Hot Topic — but sometimes all life gives us is a big hunk of meat rotating in front of a fiery hot wall of grills.
