I spent the weekend with a bevy of lovely people at the Aiming Low Non-Conference. It was a nice cozy (non)conference; I think there were only 70 or so attendees. I’d met quite a few people already, so I really didn’t have any anxiety beforehand. Which was a very nice thing.
I didn’t take a lot of notes this weekend, so I don’t have any nuggets of wisdom to pass along to you. But I do want to introduce you to a few of the delightful people I had the chance to meet:
- Vikki at Up Popped a Fox. She radiates fun.
- Faiqa at Native Born. Smart lady. S.m.a.r.t. I’m hoping they let her do a U.S. History session next year.
- Alexandra at Good Day, Regular People. She can see into your soul. (Or maybe that’s just me.)
- Stephanie at Talking is My Primary Function. Live wire, man.
- Neil at Citizen of the Month. I like the way he talks.
- Amiyrah at 4 Hats and Frugal. My strong, beautiful roommate.
- Sarah of Sarah and the Goon Squad. She writes about sports, and when she talks you should listen.
- Jana at Jana’s Thinking Place. I just love her to bits. She’s made of sweetness.
- Suzanne at Kinsey’s Texas Tales. My other strong, beautiful roommate!
And those are just a few of the people I’d never met before! I also got to see and hang out with Julia and Robin, Kelby and Katherine, Heather and Tricia, and Heather and Cecily and Cait. And I know I’m forgetting at least someone, for which I apologize because I’m almost positive that I love that person, too.
Oh, and did I mention this lady?
Yep, that’s Ree Drummond, the Pioneer Woman. I didn’t get to hang out with her, but I did meet her briefly in the lobby. She was the keynote speaker, and she was positively charming.
So I had a really nice weekend, is what I’m saying. I really like these internet people.
Great meeting you and thanks for the link to BH – will be using that later today-wish me luck I don’t crash the hole mofo site LOL!!!!
We did have our moment of ZING and we connected. Right across that Round Table session, I did see you. All of you, and had to stop myself from leaping across the table and cradle your head in my lap. Yup, all those feelings, in that ZING moment.
It was real, and we had it.
Loved meeting you.
xo
And we like you back! It was great rooming with you and talking to you in the dark of our hotel room. See you at the next conference, and hopefully we’ll both be anxiety-free at that one as well :-D.
This above here, is me, Alexandra, of Good Day, known as Mrs. Pitt. (shhh… don’t tell Angelina , she is a raging nut. Whoulda guessed, right?)
Gah. Forget about me. Fine. Just kidding. It was lovely to meet you. Let’s do it again next year.
I loved meeting you there…there were good feelings zinging every which way through the whole weekend. I hope to see you again at the next NonCon!
I had so much fun this weekend. It really energized me: from setting up a daily schedule to restoring my my love for Interwebs people and laughing so hard I peed a little. It was well worth the trip!
Making me even more sad I didn’t attend, but glad everyone had so much fun!
It was great rooming with you. And I swear I am still working on “that list” we talked about. I made a list of “things that must be accomplished on the plane, but as soon as I got home my husband went on a business trip. I have just been treading water, so
next week” I will start coming up with ways to get everything done. It’s hard to go to sleep at night without a funny story. My husband is so boring!
I did not get to talk to you enough! You did room with two of my favorite people in blogdom.
