My loyal ol’ laptop has been ailing for a few months now. It randomly shuts down, which is absolutely maddening. So I took it over to the local computer-fixin’ store to find out what was wrong and whether it could be fixed. The answer: It’s the power-management thingamajig in the logic board. And that’ll cost about $600 to replace.
The upshot of this is that I’m going to have relatively sporadic access to the Internet for the foreseeable future, because we’re not going to have it fixed.
🙁
So, couldn’t you just about buy a new computer for that?
This is an unacceptable turn of events.
