Finding inspiration and making progress

Your comments on last week’s pity-party of a “3 in 30” update were most appreciated. They also encouraged me to just get going on this stuff already. And so I did.

3 in 30

Lose 5 pounds

I still wasn’t doing a very good job with the Recording of Foods until Wednesday. I’ve written down everything since then. Why the sudden change? Read on.

Exercise

My goal was to do some sort of exercise on at least 15 days in April. I’ve only done four so far, which means I need to do a lot of working out in the next couple of weeks. Yesterday, the kids and I played a king of the castle / tag hybrid. It involved running around the house, which meant running up and down the ridiculously steep hill our house is built on. That’s a “Biggest Loser”-worthy task, and I was wiped out by the end of the game.

And also.

On Wednesday I met with a trainer at the gym. Which is why I’ve been writing down all of the eating since then. It still feels very strange saying that I’ve hired a trainer, and I still feel pretty conflicted about it because that money certainly could have gone to other, less Nichole-centric causes. I saved up the money to buy 20 sessions, and I will tell you later — 19 sessions from now, probably — whether or not I regret it.

Counting blessings

The paper journal that I’d written these down in in the past has disappeared. So I decided I’d just put them on the internet instead. I haven’t been trying to write down any particular number of items a day, but I am trying to add at least one item every day. The most recent item should be in the sidebar to the left, and the entire list is on the 1,000 Gifts page. So! Progress is being made on this one.

Thank you for being so supportive. You are my Coach Taylor. Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose.
