Happy anniversary

Rockford and I took the weekend off. Poppy had a big sleepover with “Bompa” (her collective name for Rockford’s parents), and we slept in, had breakfast in bed, read the newspaper, window-shopped, bought fancy chocolate truffles and watched three movies in one day. It was a wonderful start to Year Seven.

It’s so easy to lose sight of each other in the day-to-day. This weekend helped me remember that Rockford isn’t just Poppy’s Daddy or my partner in housekeeping or the guy who pays the bills. He’s my best friend.

Now with prizes!

When we were young and carefree, we hosted an Oscars party every year. Our friend Amy rarely came because she requires Absolute Silence on Oscars night, but some of our other friends did come, and we always had a nice time. We also always had an Oscar pool, complete with prizes. Or at the very least, a prize.

We’re not having a party this year, but thanks to Matthew at Defective Yeti, the Oscar pool is alive and well.
