I’ve spent a good bit of this week trying to go deeply into denial over the van, which we have learned is quite messed up and in need of expensive repairs.* So far I’ve been rearranging our bedroom furniture and making giant sandwiches for Rockford and reorganizing what was once the Closet of Doom and is now the Closet of Slight Chaos That Will/Might Be Lovely Once I Have It Completely Unloaded and Reloaded Again For The Third Time.

And now, while “Sesame Street” is still occupying the children, I will try to cobble together my list of Favorite Things, because some of you seem interested. And everything I do, I do it for you.**

As Rockford and I were driving and driving and driving and driving on our way home this evening, we decided now would be a good time for a “Guys and Dolls” remake. Here’s our cast list:

  • Johnny Depp as Sky Masterson.
  • Hugh Jackman as Nathan Detroit.
  • Justin Timberlake or Jack Black as Nicely-Nicely Johnson (you may be able to guess who chose whom here).
  • Christina Aguilera as Miss Adelaide. If she can act.
  • Zooey Deschanel as Sgt. Sarah Brown.

    • Now, I have so many vacation pictures to download and edit. While you’re waiting for those, please tell me what you think of our casting. And if you’re Johnny, Hugh, Justin, Jack, Christina or Zooey: Call me. I’d like to get this thing moving.
