The stuff that didn’t fit elsewhere.

Three books

I was so pleased to find a lot of time to read while we were vacationing. I managed to get through “The Known World,” “Cloud Atlas” and “March.” And now, of course, I can’t find my reading journal. I think I might have left it behind somewhere. So attention, Family: Have you seen my reading journal? I miss it. And I didn’t record any of my thoughts immediately after I finished the books, so they’ve already flittered out of my porous brain. But I know this: They’re all pretty darn bleak.

UPDATE: My journal has been located and will soon be on its way home. Thanks for coming through, Family!

I let my brother play with the camera yesterday, and he brought it back with a full memory card. This was my favorite shot.

Wedding bells

We went to my best friend’s sister’s wedding this afternoon. It was a beautiful, outdoor affair. The bride was lovely, there were happy children and dogs everywhere, the bride’s father/officiant made me cry and the cake was delicious. I took quite a few pictures, but I’m not sure the newlyweds would want them posted online. So here’s a picture of a dog that sat down next to me before the ceremony. I think he might have been an usher.
