A good reason to eschew vegetarianism

I’ve had bacon on the brain ever since I saw the bacon cups at NotMartha.com. Today she revealed the purpose of the cups: A bacon party. The photos had me drooling.

In other bacon news, here are a few things I’d like to try:

  • Bacon Salt. Because everything should taste like bacon. The founders have a nice background story that involves “America’s Funniest Home Videos.” Seriously.
  • Mo’s Bacon Bars. A few years ago I thought it would be a good idea to add bacon to chocolate chip cookies. Rockford squashed that idea. (Fair enough. I squashed his cereal bar idea, which was the most lucrative of the two.) Vosges’ bacony bar has me thinking about Bacon Chocolate Cookies again, though.
  • Powered by Pork.” This Zingerman’s gift box contains “almost 3 lbs of our favorite bacons, including Wisconsin Applewood, Arkansas Long Pepper, Kentucky Dry-Cured and Edward’s from Virginia.”

    Gee whiz, I’m hungry.

    It seems I infuriated Chris with my “American Idol” post. So in the spirit of apology, this post is dedicated to you, my bacon-loving, expat pal.
