Monday: Spaghetti.

I let the kids pick the meals for tonight and tomorrow night. This was Poppy’s choice.

Tuesday: Eggs & veggie sausages.

Pete’s first pick was yogurt. His second? M&Ms. Much as I hated to make him go with his third choice, the first two just didn’t seem like dinner material.

Wednesday: Grilled pork sliders.

Thursday: Edamame noodle bowls.

I never made these last week, so here they are again! Maybe we’ll actually have them this time.

Friday: Pizza

Wide Open Spaces, Part II

Front yardA little over a year ago I sought your input on our gravelly, mulch-ridden front yard. Finally, today, we did something about it! Our landlord came over and spent all day helping us dig trenches, move gravel and put down sod. We aren’t quite finished, but I’m so pleased with the results so far!

(Don’t worry, Brook. There’s still room for guests to park!)

Poppy and Pete are sitting at the coffee table, looking through a book together. Poppy says she’s looking for “the perfect recipe for us.” She decides on Chocolate Donut Cake:

Poppy’s Chocolate Donut Cake
1 cup flour
2 cups vanilla
1 chocolate donut
sprinkles

You put them onto a cake pan and put them in the oven, then you put on the sprinkles and it’s ready to eat.

It sounds a little overpowering to me, but to each his own, I suppose.
